.... It's Not Just A Cycle ....

The easiest way to start this might by to introduce ourselves and why we're running this event.  This event is being run by Belcoo GAA Club, and we're hoping to develop our club grounds in particular by putting a new building and store room. We hope to put these facilities  at the centre of the Belcoo Community and make them both cross border and cross community.  Inspired by our beautiful surroundings, and having seen the impact of the Lakelander Gravel Grinder, we tasked some of our members with coming up with an event, well actually a day, because once the cycling is over, the craic begins,  that will attract like minded people to Belcoo, and more importantly make them want to keep coming back.

A Word from the Event Organiser

My name is Tom White, I've cycled for many's a year. The roads, lakes, forests and hills around this area are superb for all types of cycling. There's a whole load of culture and stories attached to the area as well. From ancient folklore about the Black Pigs Dyke, the ancient border between Connacht and Ulster to the legend of the how Big Dog and Little Dog got their name, to more recent connections to the Titanic and to film and Olympic history.  We're planning this event in the middle of our local festival in Belcoo, and we're hoping that you come for the cycle, and then stay to enjoy our hospitality..  While the routes are not purist gravel, they are nevertheless a challenge.  Its not flat around here.  So there's something for everyone.
